Alibaba Releases Free AI That Clones Any Voice

Alibaba's Qwen team released on January 21 the complete Qwen3-TTS model family as open source, offering voice cloning, voice design, and high-quality speech generation capabilities. The models come in two sizes at 1.7 billion and 0.6 billion parameters and support ten languages including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, and major European languages.
The system achieves streaming generation with end-to-end synthesis latency as low as 97 milliseconds and delivers state-of-the-art performance on speech reconstruction and speaker similarity benchmarks. Users can create custom voice identities through natural language descriptions and clone voices from just three seconds of audio input.

Hollywood's Top Agencies Team Up with Adobe AI

Adobe announced on January 23 a new product called Firefly Foundry that establishes AI partnerships with major Hollywood talent agencies, visual effects studios, film schools, and directors. Partners include all three major talent agencies CAA, WME, and UTA alongside production companies like Wonder Studio and directors David Ayer and Jaume Collet-Serra.
The tool allows organizations to build custom generative AI models trained on their own intellectual property for commercial use across film production and marketing workflows. Adobe emphasised the product would help with storyboarding, processing dailies, post-production fixes, and social content creation while preventing unauthorised use of copyrighted material.

Best ChatGPT Use cases for Founders, Working professionals, and Film makers

MIT studied 453 professionals. They finished work 40% faster. Quality went up 18%. Harvard tested BCG consultants. Same story. Better work. Less time.
But here's what nobody talks about. The people who improved the most? The ones who were struggling before.
ChatGPT doesn't replace your best people. It lifts up everyone else.
- Founders use it to write sales emails and validate ideas.
- Professionals use it to draft reports and prep for meetings.
- Filmmakers use it to generate shot lists and storyboards.
The pattern is clear.
First drafts. Frameworks. Starting points.
Not final answers.
The winners treat it like a smart intern. Fast but needs supervision. The losers treat it like an oracle. Then wonder why they got burned.
92% of Fortune 500 companies use it now. The question isn't whether you should. It's whether you're using it right.

DeepMind Releases D4RT 4D Reconstruction Model
Google DeepMind unveiled D4RT on January 22, a new AI model that unifies dynamic scene reconstruction into a single efficient framework. The system can track every pixel of every object as it moves through three-dimensional space over time from standard two-dimensional video input. D4RT achieved top performance on benchmarks for point tracking, camera pose estimation, and 3D reconstruction without requiring test-time optimization. The model represents a step toward machines perceiving dynamic reality like humans do.
Meta Releases Llama 4 Dense Model Weights
Meta published the open weights for the 405-billion parameter version of Llama 4 on January 21. This model utilizes a new sparse mixture-of-depths architecture that reportedly improves inference efficiency by 40% compared to its predecessor. The release includes a permissive commercial license that allows for fine-tuning and distillation by smaller enterprise developers. Benchmarks show the model achieving state-of-the-art performance on reasoning and coding tasks among open-source alternatives.

Singapore announced a government commitment of more than S$1 billion to public AI research through 2030. The funding will support responsible AI development, talent cultivation, and priority sectors. This investment builds on earlier national AI programs and seeks to enhance competitiveness. It is one of the largest public AI R&D commitments in Asia. (Source: Router)
Anthropic Raises $10 Billion at $350 Billion Valuation
Anthropic signed a term sheet in early January to raise $10 billion in new funding that would nearly double its valuation to $350 billion, according to reports from Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal. The funding follows Anthropic's Claude Code reaching $1 billion in annualized revenue just six months after public launch. The company is also preparing for a potential initial public offering as early as this year. (Source: Google Deepmind)
Nvidia CEO Predicts AI Will Create Manual Jobs
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told the Davos audience on January 21 that AI infrastructure development represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for employment, particularly in Europe. He predicted substantial growth in manual labor jobs including plumbers, electricians, and construction workers needed to build data centers and power systems. Huang noted salaries for these trades have nearly doubled due to demand. He argued that contrary to displacement fears, AI would create more jobs than it eliminates. (Source)
